any way to highlight keywords in non-excerpt fields?

akc 9 Aug 2013 22:05 question, complete

I'm stoked about Low Search. The keyword highlighting was an essential feature for us, and it's so simple to use.

I see that the option to highlight keywords in the title field was added earlier this year, which is great.

I've got a site with some entries that have very long titles. Due to EE's character limit on the title field, I set up a custom field that contains the actual full title for page display purposes.

On my search results page, I show this full title + excerpt. The highlighting works perfectly in the excerpts. I'm wondering if there's any way to get the highlighting to apply to my custom title field as well.

I realize this may be more of a feature request, but I posted it as a question in case I missed something, or there is a workaround.

Yeah, that's not really possible at the moment. I think I should make the whole keyword highlighting algorithm more flexible.

You could use Low Replace for now.
