Low Search not highlighting keywords

Pedro Guimaraes 19 May 2020 01:52 question, complete

I'm on Low Search 6.2.0 and latest EE and have Highlight keywords set to the mark tag and Highlight keywords in title set to on, but it won't highlight the keyword. I've looked at the source of the page and nothing. Any ideas?

Most obvious reason would be that the keywords do not match the title in some way or another. No way to tell without an example.

No keywords are highlighted at all? Or just some in particular? Can you turn on template debugging and check the log for all lines mentioning Low Search?

None at all.... Here is the screenshot of the search and HTML content.

Make sure the Low Search extension is enabled and active:
Can you see the line "Calling Extension Class/Method: Low_search_ext/channel_entries_query_result" in the debug data? If so, are there any other extensions using the channel_entries_query_result hook?

  5. Pedro Guimaraes 19 May 2020 15:07

I do see that one. As well as one for Low Reorder and one for Assets...

I'll need to take a look myself. Please send SuperAdmin login credentials to hi at gotolow dot com if you can.

Ah, right, LS expects {low_search_excerpt} to be present when highlighting keywords. It wasn't, so it skipped the title, too. I added the var in an HTML comment and now it works. Will look into smoothing that out.
