Issues with grid field variable type

Paul Vance 3 Jul 2019 14:54 problem, active

We're having 2 issues with Low Variables, each related to the use of a variable type of grid field.

1. I'd like to prevent people from reordering rows, but when I toggle that off and save/close the variable, it doesn't "stick". When you reopen the variable it's still enabled.

2. When cloning grid field variable types, the columns in the original variable are not replicated in the cloned version. And when I go to save the cloned version, I get php errors (see attached).

I'm using EE 5.2.2 and Low Variables 3.3.0. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

The first issue is a new feature in Grid that LV didn't take into account yet. Will get that added and release a new version.

The second issue is due to EE won't let me recreate Grid settings like that (unless that's changed recently). So cloning a Grid field will only copy over meta-info like Group, early parsing, etc. Will look if there's new features in Grid to do so, but I doubt it.

Could not reproduce the error you sent. Does this happen when you click the Clone icon, set up the new var and then hit save?
