Upgrade path from EE 2.9.2 to EE 3.5 with Low Variables
We have a license for Low Variables version 3, however it is not compatible with EE 2.9.2.
Is there a recommended upgrade path?
Moving to EE 3 with Low Variables 2 breaks all our templates, and we are unable to install Low Variables 3 inside EE 2.9.2 so we can upgrade with LV installed.

Best way is to include the latest LV version in the EE3 installation, so copy the files over to /system/user/addons/ and then upgrade EE itself. Then, in the CP, you should be able to see LV and upgrade that to the latest version. There aren't any DB changes for LV, so it would just be an update of the version number.

When we upgrade from EE2 with Low Variables installed, all the exp_low_variables are stripped from our templates.

I don't recall EE stripping anything from the templates during the upgrade process. And I know for sure LV doesn't do that. Only exp:low_variables tags are stripped out? Nothing else? And just the opening tags or the complete tags?
