Future events filter causes entries to show up

Aaron Krug 1 Dec 2017 14:56 problem, complete

I have upgraded Low Reorder to 3.0.1 from 3.0.0 and have found what seems like a bug. I have the filter for a set set to allow future entries. The problem is that then the future entries display on the site even if the publish date has not been reached.

I am able to work around this by adding show_future_entries="no" parameter to the template tag.

I am not sure if this is suppose to work this way or it was bug in the past but this version fixed it.

Thanks for your help.

I think it's the result of a bugfix, regarding what should take precedent: the params in the entries tag or the ones defined in the set.

So the way it is functioning is correct? I had the understanding that the params in the set were more for showing entries in the sort list not in the template. Am I wrong in this?

Another way of looking at it is that a set is a pre-defined selection of entries that you can override by (explicitly) setting parameters on the entries tag. I understand the confusion, tho. There's something to be said for either approach, but sticking to the current one for now.
