Extra ... in search excerpt randomly

I've got some random ... appearing in front of the search excerpt. There is no reason for it in the code.
<p>{low_search_excerpt}... <a href="{comment_url_title_auto_path}">Read More</a></p>In the results page this is randomly adding three dots before the excerpt - see screenshot.
Interestingly the actual field has some text being truncated from the beginning of the text area as you can see from the second screenshot.

That's as designed.
You've set an Excerpt Length in the LS settings. That length will be applied to the excerpt field, depending on where the given keywords are found in that field. If that means the beginning of the field should be truncated, a horizontal ellipsis is put in front.
