Low GoogleSearch and the confusing service chance of GSS/CSE

Does this module survive the mess created by Google and the confusion over what is extinct with GSS but now available with CSE?
Basically, I have several paying CSE search engines, and my understanding is, to go ad-free, you must connect directly to the API (using a module like yours) rather than the more conventional embed.

I don't know, to be honest. I'm not actively keeping track of the current developments with GSS/CSE. As far as I know, the API across their services and products is pretty much the same, so the add-on should work.
