Low Search not working when homepage is a static HTML file?

Misha Avrekh 16 Mar 2017 18:26 question, complete

I have my homepage "statically cached" (i.e. served as an HTML file) with Mustash caching. My low search no longer works, probably because the form action points to "/", which is now a static HTML file. Is there a way to work around this issue that I am not seeing?

Not sure, to be honest -- not familiar with Mustash. I reckon you get the same issue when using the native search form.

Maybe Mark Croxton can offer some more insight.

Thanks for getting back to me. I guess what I'm really wondering about is whether it's possible to have low search work if the "/" action pointer points to a static HTML file (whether it's generated by Mustash or uploaded via ftp or similar). It seems like the issue here is that the low search form points to "/", which is an HTML file.

Low Search uses methods provided by EE to generate the opening form, including the action="" attribute. It's based on EE's settings. So the issue is not with LS, but with the caching itself and how EE handles form submissions.
