Custom field not showing in collections

Custom fields nog showing up when editing a collection.
The custom field is marked as searchable and the custom field is checked in the edit settings > filters setting.
What am I doing wrong? Or is this not the concept?
I would like to keyword search tags and relationship and titles from one text input across multiple channels.

    Are you sure the field is marked as Searchable in the field settings?

    Also note that keyword-searching a Relationship field will not work, as that field does not store any searchable data.
