Need advice using 1 channel w/ only 1 field which is lv select group

Evis 17 Aug 2016 13:00 question, complete

Hello! I need your advice if I should just use 1 channel for Information Pages w/ entries segregated using categories. I am thinking of using Low Variables as the only field for this channel so that the author will be able to select which ‘LV group’ to be used for this entry For example: If I were to create an entry for a staff-person then i’d choose a low variables group i created called fields-for-staff variables group where the variables are composed of.. Staff-Position Staff-Picks Staff-Historical-Background Staff-logbook Staff-Notes and If I were to create an entry like legal pages and corporate info pages then i’d choose a low variables group i created called fields-for-documents variables group where the variables are composed of... Document-file Document-type Document-body Document-revision So somewhat like that... Is that good?

You can create the two groups with vars, yes. But you'd need to create the logic to show those vars in your template yourself. LV gives you the tools, you wield the hammer, so to speak. :)

I knw right, thats why i want to make use of LV to minimize channel field duplication and also use LV for templating so i csn just use template manager for 'short-codes' but it will be a lot of conditional statements i guess
