PHP errors with Low Events 1.0.4, EE 2.5.3 and PHP 5.6.24

Rick 31 Jul 2016 09:50 problem, active

One of my clients' sites is using Low Events on EE 2.5.3, and I'm seeing PHP errors (when logged in as a super admin) stating "Non-static method Low_events_model::load_models() should not be called statically, assuming $this from incompatible context".

The site is running on PHP 5.6.24. My installed version of Low Events is a bit old (1.0.4) but given the early version of EE that the site is running (and the client is reluctant to upgrade at the moment) I can't just download the latest version. I can see from the change logs that Low Events 1.3.1 "Fixed an error that could occur on PHP 5.6", so maybe that is the problem I'm seeing. (The web hosts have upgraded PHP since this site was originally installed, but TBH I haven't been keeping a super-close eye on it and the client's haven't reported anything to me because they are not logging in as superadmins and so don't see the reported PHP errors).

Would installing Low Events 1.4.1 resolve this issue? And If so where can I get it and would any of the changes between 1.0.4 and 1.4.1 require any templating changes?

Thanks.

Yeah, you should try and update to the latest LE version that's compatible with EE2. If you own the license, you should be able to download the legacy version from the main add-on page on devot:ee. No template changes required.

However, I'm seeing the v1.5.1 will require EE2.6 at least. Send me an email with your license key if you need a different version: http://gotolow.com/contact
