Quick links to low variables

Ross Hulford 31 May 2016 14:16 question, complete

Can I add a button for my users? Seems the only way I can edit i do into
Add-On Manager > Low Variables > Ungrouped. This is 3 clicks.

Alternatively can I embed these in channel fields?

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled user friendly editing.

These variables seem quite hidden in
Add-On Manager > Low Variables > My group. What is the best way to make these user friendly?

Low Variables doesn't itself let you create custom menu items in the main CP nav.

Which version of EE are you using? EE itself might allow you to do this.

    v3.32

Then you're able to create a shortcut per user using the + New Link option in your profile (top right):

The shortcut link will then appear in that drop down list.

I'd recommend pointing out to EllisLab to make it possible to add custom links to the main menu; this isn't possible at the moment.

Adding the variable form to a channel entry isn't possible.

Yes you used to if I remember correctly - thanks.
