Low Variables 3.0.2 upgrade produces Fatal error: Call to undefined method EE::get()

Eric 7 Apr 2016 19:03 problem, rejected

After upgrading to the latest version of Low Variables (3.0.2) on an EE site running 2.11.1, the front end of the site has the error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined method EE::get() in /home/client-folder/public_html/ee-directory/expressionengine/third_party/low_variables/base.low_variables.php on line 110

Currently running the latest version of PHP 5.6.x (hoping to install this and switch over to 7.x once its working).

Low Variables v3+ is only compatible with EE3 and up. If you're running EE2, use the v2 legacy version, which can be downloaded on the main add-on page in devot:ee (v2.6.1).

Also, LV for EE2 hasn't been tested on PHP 7 yet. Will try and make sure the V2 branch is compatible with PHP 7 soon.
