Keyword Mode doesnot work

keywords:mode="exact" doesnot work for me search for Washington but it also give me result for 'fort Washington'

   This works as designed.
   
   For the keywords "Washington", the exact phrase would also be "Washington". That phrase is used to search the collection index, returning the entry that contains "fort Washington".
   
   If you expect only entries that have a certain string in a certain field, you might want to consider using the Field Search filter rather than the Keywords filter.

   But i am using more than one field to search with only one text box i.e is for state, city.
   
   Can it be possible with this Field Search filter?

   So you're after one single input field, and only if any field *exactly* matches the input, that should be a search result? That would be a custom filter or extension.
   
   With the Keywords filter, you cannot match a certain field specifically; the searchable fields are combined and treated as one big single field.
