Low events with Channel entries

Brian Hackett 2 Oct 2015 13:55 question, complete

Hi
I have a site with a very active events section with the entries controlled by low events .The user can push an event to the homepage of the site and the question I have relates to that.
Currently the user checks a box to make the event visible on the homepage but it can only be removed and replaced by unticking that box. I would those events to expire dependent on the low events date.
So my question is can I add a low events entries tag to the channel entries tag on the home page events
e.g
{exp:channel:entries channel="events" limit="3" orderby="event_date" unit="upcoming" sort="asc" search:front_page_event="yes" show_future_entries="yes" dynamic="no"}

So will adding unit="upcoming" expire existing events as their dates pass.
Thanks
Brian

    Actually, this is what the {exp:low_events:entries} tag is for. With that, if an entry has passed according to the start and end date in the LE field, it won't show up for unit="upcoming".

    Using the native channel:entries tag will not have that effect.
