Low Search appears to be indexing unsearchable fields

Ashley 10 Apr 2015 16:07 problem, complete

We have a Low Search collection (running on EE 2.9.2 and Low Search 4.0.1)
where we only want specific fields to be searchable. I have searched for criteria I know is only present in an unsearchable field and results are still coming up.

I have rebuilt the indexes and still getting the same result.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Try clicking the Index link to rebuild but keep the alt-key pressed, so an Alt-click. That will force the index to be deleted completely first.

I'll need to take a look myself. Please send SuperAdmin login credentials to hi at gotolow dot com if you can.

    For visibility:

I re-saved both collections after setting all the weights to 1 (having all on 3 is not effective, but not the cause of the issue), then rebuilt.

Turns out that if a field is weighted in a collection, but then set to not searchable in the field settings, the field will remain in the collection, until you re-save its details. So, re-saving and rebuilding did the trick.

    Hi,
I have the very same issue. Did the re-save and re-build did not helped me. Still finding an entry that im testing against with none searchable field.
Runnin EE2.9.3 and its a Solspace Tag field in my case.

If this is about this topic, then that's intended behaviour. The Tag filter targets tags directly, rather than looking for keywords, which the Keywords filter does. And the Collections are only used with the Keywords filter.
