Extension removed in v1.4?

Damien 27 Feb 2015 03:03 question, complete

Hi Low - I think I solved this issue but just want to confirm. I updated Low Events from 1.3 to 1.4.1 using Updater (think I'm going to stop using this tbh) but the Low Events Extension was showing in the list but as uninstalled.

I uploaded the new files manually and ran module updates again to be sure and notice the extension has now disappeared from the list and in Git that both ext.low_events.php and Low_events_model.php are deleted.

I see you have this 'Replaced the extension with a filter for Low Search compatibility' in the changelog so am assuming the extension is not supposed to be there anymore and simply that Updater didnt remove it.

If this is all good, might be worth leaving this as a warning to others that Updater doesn't remove deprecated files - just adds/updates existing ones.

Yeah, in LE 1.4 I moved and renamed the Low_events_model.php file to model.low_events.php, and I removed the extension file.

I'd actually recommend that, when updating, you remove the old folder and upload the new one, to avoid having deprecated/old files in the package.

I don't know if Updater does this, to be honest.

Hey, thanks. Can confirm Updater definitely doesn't remove the files - just adds/updates new files. I noticed this with Expresso too - they upgraded to using ckeditor 4.5 recently but using Updater I ended up with two ckeditor folders - 4.1 & 4.5. Will stick to manual updates in future I think...
