Getting started with Low Search

laureent 22 Jul 2014 05:52 question, complete

Hello,

I bought low_search yesterday, because I needed keyword searches to be accent and diacritic insensitive, but I'm having a really hard time setting things up.

I tried to install the other extensions required for your huge example template, but still I can't get any result. Could you just provide a simple rewrite of the EE advanced search form ?

Cheers,
L.

For keyword searches, you need to set up Collections, making sure your searchable fields have a weight >= 1.

Then you can start with the straight forward example given with the Form tag.

If you need something more custom, I'd be happy to help you out for a fee, as per my Implementation Aid service.

    Low,

Your docs are time consuming. It's really difficult if you just want to read between the lines. I think there might be room for something between the skinny and the fat.

Also, maybe you should state somewhere clearly that collections are mandatory.
And provide an example based on the defaut EE templates, usually that's from where people start...

Anyway, I'm back on tracks, thanks.

    Cheers,
    L.
