Search/Tags not working...license issue?

I currently have low_search working on our online catalog site (at a college) and it works great. We're working on a brand new website for the entire college which will integrate the catalog into this and do away with its individual site.

Our new site will, of course, use low_search so I installed it and set it up using the same license key (as only one site will be live at a time), but low_search doesn't seem to be working correctly.

Now...we have some consultants who are much more familiar with EE developing the backbone of the site, so it's possible that there is a different reason it's not working, but before I get them spending time on trying to figure out the issue it hit me that maybe the licensing was causing the issue.

Would a second install of low_search using the same key not work or do I have a different issue?

    No, using the same (or no) license doesn't affect the workings of Low Search. It's looking like a different issue.

    Okay, I'll get those consultants working on it then!

    For future reference...we are setting up a development / staging / production server environment. Can we use once license of low_search for all three as long as only one is live at any given time?

    Yep. You just need to make sure you have a license for each live installation.
