Low Variables won't sync changes from newly deployed files

QuốcHưngLê 13 May 2014 03:25 problem, complete

Hi Low

I'm having some issues with Low Variables files syncing feature.

Just want to get this out of the way first, I'm having a EE 2.7.3 install with Low Variable 2.5.0 (latest version as of today May 13).

So basically, I save my variables as files, and they sync back to the database well on my local install. However, when I saved the changes, push it to git and deploy to my live server, those variables don't sync the changes from the newly deployed files.

I checked the templates files and I can confirm that they have been changed but Low Variables just don't sync those changes back to the DB.

I also have enabled the newly added feature One Way sync but it still doesn't work.
I tried to restart my DB & Web Server but had no luck

Any idea why?
Thanks!

Do the variables exist on the remote site, or are they new? Note that LV will not create new variables based on files. It will only update existing vars.

    Hi Low

They are existing variables on the remote site.

Is the file path correct on the remote site?

    Looks like that's the problem.
I just double checked and found out that there was a typo error on my config file. Let me try to deploy again and see if it works.
    THanks!

    Hm,

    It still doesn't work. :-/
The files path is absolutely correct this time.

I'll need to take a look myself. Please send SuperAdmin and FTP login credentials to hi at gotolow dot com if you can.

    Just sent it.
    Thanks for looking into it.

    Your path was this:

    [...]/assets/templates/default_site/low_variables/default_site/

The last dir shouldn't be there -- that's generated automatically, just like the native template path does. I changed it to this:

    [...]/assets/templates/default_site/low_variables/

...and now it seems to sync properly.
