How to setup a Glossary?

andrew001 27 Mar 2014 02:47 question, complete

Hi guys,

Totally new to EE and this plugin.

How exactly would I setup a glossary?

Ive created a channel called "glossary" and 2 fields within, "Glossary title, and "glossary Description"

I fear that the client will end up with a million entries to edit when I'm done? Not sure how to effectively implement this.

basically, I would like a typical glossary of words, with the alphabet going across the top as a navigation piece.

I appreciate any help. Thanks

Low Alphabet doesn't create content in itself, but lets you access it alphabetically. The most important thing to remember is that LA targets a channel field.

Using the A-Z List tag pair, you can create a list from A to Z, based on that field. Then, you can display entries where that field starts with the selected letter.

In your case, the Glossary Title would be the field to target. The example code given should give you a good start; just make sure you point the channel="", alpha_field="" and orderby="" parameters appropriately.
