An error occurred removing the following plugin: Low Alphabet

Jeremy Timms 6 Mar 2014 20:46 problem, rejected

Hey Low,

Just trying the plugin out for a potential project, works great and then went to uninstall via the CP, got that error. Any ideas?

Can you post a screenshot of that error? Never seen it before. LA is a plugin and extension, and plugins are "installed" by just adding them to the third_party folder. No additional action needed. You do need an action for the extension (enable it). I just tried to disable and enable it, and that went fine... So not sure what's going on here.

    No idea either, very strange..

That list of checkboxes next to the plugins is not core functionality. Do you have an add-on installed for that?

It might be just an add-on that removes the file from the file system, but lacks permissions to do so.

Nothing added at all Low - all standard stuff, no CP plugins. I will remove it from the server then.

How strange. In my version of EE 2.7.3 I don't see any checkboxes next to the list of plugins. Will investigate.

Ok thank you - just removed it via the server, but still very strange.

    Best,

I see now. If the third_party folder is writable, EE allows you to remove plugins from the file system. But since Low Alphabet is part of a package (ie, also has an extension), EE won't allow it to be removed. So, native EE functionality.

Ok cool :) Thanks for taking a look.
