Error in low_variables.js

Error in low_variables.js (EE 2.7.2 / LV 2.4.0) see attached screenshot.
I noticed the error because I wasn't able to reorder the display order in the group settings.

   Make sure the /themes/third_party/low_variables folder is updated to the latest version and clear your browser cache. That should fix it.

   - cleared the cache
   - reinstalled the module
   - cleared the cache again
   
   But the issue remains

   Low Variables hasn't used the $.cookie thing in a while now. If you open low_variables.js in a text editor, you'll see you won't be able to see a reference to $.cookie at all.
   
   So make sure Safari's cache is indeed emptied. The code referenced in the log is not the latest version.
