Subcategory Indexing

Michael 7 Oct 2013 14:36 question, complete

We have setup Low Search to index categories but it doesn't appear to be indexing sub-categories in one particular category group. In the index_text field for that entry in the DB we have a line that reads "| kentucky | kentucky | kentucky |" because it is in Kentucky (not sure why its repeated three times) but it is in a subcategory for a county that isn't listed below that. For another category group subcategory indexing it seems to be working correctly. Any thoughts?

It's repeated 3 times because the field's weight is 3.

Which version of Low Search and EE are you using?

Makes sense. EE 2.6.1 + LS 2.4.2. Thanks.

I'll need to take a look myself. Please send SuperAdmin login credentials to hi at gotolow dot com if you can.

For visibility: it had to do with a custom import of (sub)categories and the way a query in LS was setup. Have tweaked the query to avoid the issue, but I recommend to make sure the category data is complete, ie. both the exp_category and exp_category_field_data tables have equal rows.
