Feature Request - Caching of Low Variables

Sean 7 Dec 2012 16:43 idea, rejected

I have a site I'm working on where one page has several low variables each with a matrix each matrix with multiple columns & rows. The page load was insanely slow 2.5+seconds. I needed to set the whole template to cache which dropped the page load to 0.2 seconds.

However what I'd like to see is an option to have low variables cached with an expiration time set by the developer and then optionally have the cache cleared when the variable is updated with new data.

Is this possible? in the works? or is there a better solution that I haven't thought of.

    Sorry for the late reply.

I reckon caching like this is not LV's task. Other add-ons like CE Cache or native caching could work to bring page load down. Adding caching to LV would stray away too much from what its core job is, IMO.
