How can i order by asc / desc on a custom field as part of the low search?

john 30 Nov 2012 14:28 question, rejected

I have a set of three dropdowns in a nav bar, two dropdowns for 2 different category groups that i have wrapped in one search tag, then one keyword search box which is in it's own search tag and then i have a fourth dropdown which lets someone sort the results by asc / desc (this is a custom field called "price" i should add). How can i add that asc or desc into the search itself, or can i add it onto the url? But then with pagination into the mix, i could not be certain of which segment the asc or desc would be in. Hope that makes sense!

Oh hang on a sec, i don't need to involve this as part of the search itself, i think i see another way to do this.

    Sorry, you can ignore this.

Yeah sorry, i just got myself thinking that the asc or desc would need to be part of the search string itself, but obviously not!

Nope. Just add them as input fields or selects and you're good to go.
