Saving changes is very slow

Diadyo 6 Nov 2012 11:54 problem, rejected

I have 9 low variables 5 playa fields and 6 matrix fields with playa fields inside. I have created 6 groups and each group has 1 or two variables. When I hit save changes - on any group - it takes more than 30 seconds to save the changes. However the script execution time is less than 0.2. I've tried it on different machines with different OS and browsers. It happens on all of them. What should I do? Why is this happening? Should delete everything and re-install Low Variables?

It looks like some sort of server setting. So it also happens if you save changes for a group with just a simple textarea in it?

Hi Low. Thanks for the reply. I've just created a variable with a text area and placed it alone in a group. It does exactly the same. All the queries look normal and the execution time is low but still I have to wait 30+ seconds for the save to complete. I am thinking of re-installing but then I will have to create all the variables again. This is on a Rackspace cloud server. The site is under construction and I am accessing it by the server ip. Could this be the reason? These are the network requests when saving just a simple textarea http://screencast.com/t/KbV6jRNK9XPy It only happens when I try to save something in Low Variables. Everything else is just fine :(

Just to rule other stuff out -- saving variable settings or group settings does work speedy? Is it just the main page (variable values) that is slow?

  4. Diadyo 6 Nov 2012 13:04

That is correct. Only when I save under the Low Variables tab I get this delay. Settings, creating or editing groups or variables its fine!

Any chance I can take a look myself? If so, please send SuperAdmin login credentials to hi at gotolow dot com.

Low found out that it was due to a conflict with CE Cache breaker for low variables http://devot-ee.com/add-ons/ce-cache-...

Thanks for your help Low! Excellent support :)

Sorry to bump an old thread.

You say it was a conflict. What was the solution? Just abandon cache breaking?
