I manage a site which categorizes entries most of the time, but maintains a short list of uncategorized entries too. Using v. 1.0.6 I have two reorder fields: category_order and order.
The category settings for the LR field "order" are "filter entries by category" with only "uncategorized entries" selected. This displays a list of uncategorized entries on the reorder page.

The category settings for the LR field "category_order" are "show order per single category" which will force the user to select a category and reorder entries within each category.

How can I achieve this using 2.0.4? Filtering entries per category is not a problem, but there is no way to create a set that selects only uncategorized entries?

    Hi Adam,

The current version of LR doesn't cater for uncategorized entries, I'm afraid. I can see how that can be an issue for you now. I'll look into adding another option to filter by uncategorized entries only.

In the meantime, if you just need a list of uncategorized entries, you could achieve that by using the Query module.

Thanks, it is less of a problem on the front end than within the CP- the admin will have to sort "all" entries in one set, aware that many won't be included in the final sorted results. I think I will create an "uncategorized" category and force the use of categories, if possible, which will also solve the issue.

You also might be able to use something like http://devot-ee.com/add-ons/bw-requir... to force the user to select a category.

I'll mark this thread as 'not a problem' for now. Feel free to open another thread for other issues.

Yes that is what I was looking at. If there is a "feature request" status, that would be perfect....

I've already added it to the list. :)

Same issue here. I'm integrating Low Reorder into an existing site with a ton of entries. Only a small percentage have a category, but they want the ability to reorder uncategorized entries.
