Possible to remove the query string from urls using Low Search?

Jim P 26 Sep 2012 10:50 question, complete

Hi Low

Sorry for the perhaps 'dumbass' question, but is it possible to not have Low Search put a 'GET' like query string in the url when showing search results?

The reason I ask is that for the site I'm working on, we require an entry_id to be in the last segment for every page and not sure how to keep that behaviour when using Low Search.

Any ideas?

Jim

    Hi Jim,

It's not possible out of box, but this extension hook could help you if you're not afraid to get your hands dirty. :)

Thinking laterally, tho; what you need is to put the encoded query segment in any segment you want, instead of appending it to a url. That sounds like a nice feature request.

Thanks mate. Perhaps for the sake of speed, I'll look into putting the last segment variable somewhere else just for the search results.

As an aside, do you know of any Low Search tutorials or blog posts out there with sample code that people have used?

Haven't come across any LS articles, no. I need to write some up myself. Will probably start on those after EECI.
