Can I have Low Events autopopulate the an entrys expiration date?

David 15 Sep 2012 22:31 question, complete

Hi!
I am building a site whith, amongst other features, an event-calendar.

I want the siteowner to be able to easily 'push' certain events on the homepage. For this I use P&T's Playa in wich I can filter out all, not yet expired, entries from a certain channel.

My problem is that Playa doesnt recognize channel entries with an expiration date set in the low_events field as being entries with an expiration-date set.

Is there a way to avoid having to force the site-owner to enter the expiration dates twice everytime she posts in the event-calendar?

    Hi David,

I'm afraid there isn't a way to set the expiration date automatically with Low Events.

Is it just to filter a Playa list? Or is it something you'd need on the front-end as well?

For the moment its just to filter the playa-list...

But perhaps there are other ways (than Playa) to let the editor choose among not yet expired events from withing the publishing-form for the homepage.

I am slowling getting insight on the power of low_variables. Perhaps one could do something with low_variables, low_reorder and low_events som combination...

Or have you any suggestions on how to approach this?
