Low NoSpam API key problem

Marek 24 Aug 2012 12:10 problem, rejected

Users have begun seeing the error "Your Low NoSpam service’s API key appears to be invalid." I checked our Typepad Antispam API key and re-copied it, but it hasn't changed. Any idea what could be causing the problem?

This is due to a response from TypePad, not something I can influence. You sure the key has no spaces around it?

Thanks for your response. The issue seems to have dissappeared, so it must have indeed been a problem with TypePad's service.

This happened to my client today as well. I checked and I do have a valid TypePad key. It's working again now.

We're currently having this issue on all or sites. Is anyone else having trouble again?

    Yep we get this too

Apparently, the transition from TypePad to Impermium, which they said would be seemless, isn't as smooth as they promised.

This is out of my reach, so I suggest using Akismet for the time being.

Yeah looks to be the case. Would have been nice if Typepad sent us an email to let us know! Have no idea how long we have not been able to accept comments.

OH, here's an idea Low... what if NoSpam were to accept the comment (bypass spam filter) if the API key is invalid (or other reason) instead of the message? There is a setting to put a comment in Pending if the service is down, but in this case this did not happen, and instead just posted an error (which we were not aware of).

I have a 3.0 version of NoSpam in the works, but it's priority is, well, low. :) Once I manage to get it out there, it will solve issues like this.

I am strongly agree with you. Some time it just the configuration error in the type pad service. Because if you had spaces around it, it will give that your phrase doesn't match error. for more you can check at this website .
