Low Variables editing via front-end?

sam.allen 30 Jul 2012 18:09 question, complete

Is there a way to update Variable contents from the front-end a la Safecracker / FreeForm? I'm using Safecracker to create a front-end managed site, and it would be nice to not have to send editors / content admins to the CP just to edit variables.

I've seen the parse tag examples, but it's not clear whether I can use them or similar tags to edit/update. Sorry if I missed some obvious part of the docs.

Sorry, managing variables (and editing their content) is CP only.

No worries. Is there a way to convert this to feature request? I think having he ability to edit variables from the front end would allow for some awesome MojoMotor style site maintenance.

I often will place member_group specific edit links in an EE site interface that will either redirect to or load in an overlay a safecracker form for that entry. Being able to do that for Low Variable-based snippets, widgets, etc., would be tremendous!

Well, I am planning on making the group_id available for LVs, which would make linking to the correct page in the LV CP easier.

Making the actual vars editable outside of the CP would indeed be quite the feature request.
