Adding a Low Events fieldtype to a channel?

Jim Riley 19 Jul 2012 12:34 question, complete

I'm a bit confused here about how to add a Low Events fieldtype to my channels. I cant see where this is done in Channel Admin | Channel Fields

E.g. I have a subject based channel (which utilises the default field group) which will include entries which describe events.

As I understand it, I need to add Low Events data (using the new field) to these entries so that they can be displayed using Low Events?

Low Events comes with a fieldtype to enter start and end dates. So, you must add at least one custom field with type "Low Events" to a field group, which is then assigned to a channel.

The Low Events tags will display entries based on that field.

Got it - custom field added successfully. Thanks Low.

My plan is to create a dedicated Channel for events: one entry per event (including Low Events fieldtype)

...then display them throughout the site using the Low Events entries tag (maybe event create some special lists using Low Reorder)

    ...does that sound sensible?

Sounds like the exact scenario Low Events was made for. :)
