Low Search Not Indexing
I have just purchased Low Search and it doesn't seem to be working properly.
When I go into Manage Collections and click Build Index the "loading" icon animates, but the Search Index remains at 0/14. Nothing changes and the process never stops, the loading animation just keeps going and the Search Index doesn't change.
The end result is that when I search for nothing, I get all the entries in the channel intended, but when I search for terms that I know to be in the entries, I get no results.
I have reinstalled Low Search, but this made no difference.

Hi Gabriel,
What's URL of your cp? And what's the URL of the site itself?
GabbaTheHutt 7 Jul 2012 16:08
cp: http://4letproperty.co.uk/admin.php
website: http://4letproperty.co.uk

Are you sure you're not logged in to www.4letproperty.co.uk? I think the JS is failing due to the same origin policy.

You are right the control panel is on http://www.4letproperty.co.uk/admin.php, but what is the significance of this and how can I resolve it?
GabbaTheHutt 7 Jul 2012 17:03
ok I have changed the settings for the site as follows:
URL to the root directory of your site: http://www.4letproperty.co.uk/
URL to your "themes" folder: http://www.4letproperty.co.uk/themes/
There are still no results for known search terms, but I am now getting a lot of other data, including: Benchmarks, Post Data, Memory Usage, etc.

Is the collection index building now? Also, have you added weight to the searchable fields in the index? And how many entries currently exist? Indexes get better the more entries there are, so during development, it might be possible to get no results back.
The other data you're seeing looks like debugging data from the output profiler.
Also, excuse my short replies -- I'm currently on the go.

BINGO!!! You are THE MAN!!! Thank you :-)
So, how do I get rid of the debugging data?

oh and thanks for responding out of hours coz I was just about to have to buy Super Search out of a mild panic, in order to get the website working by the end of the weekend... so your help is greatly appreciated!

Cool, glad it's working.
You can turn off the system profilter under Admin ‣ System Administration ‣ Output and Debugging. See http://expressionengine.com/user_guid...

I'm having this very same problem but dont really understand the steps above to fix it.
The site was on a local MAMP domain and not working so moved it to a dev domain and still nothing.
The dev site is http://enjoy.dev.moogaloo-labs.co.uk/...
The CP is at http://enjoy.dev.moogaloo-labs.co.uk/...
If you need log in details, let me know.

What version of Low Search are you using?
Moogaloo 10 Jan 2013 14:35
It was 2.0.2 but I then wondered that and upgraded to 2.1.2 but still nothing... The module / extension page is still showing as 2.0.2 tho.

Can you try upgrading again -- also remember to update the /themes/ files as well. You should be seeing it as 2.1.2 in the CP.
Moogaloo 11 Jan 2013 10:35
OK - yes - seems to have fixed it.
Not sure what I updated it with, but it's all working fine now.
Thanks.
