EE File Manipulations for Low Variable Select Files fieldtype

QB Marketing 16 Mar 2012 13:08 idea, complete

I would LOVE to see in a future edition of Low Variables the "select files" field type to also give you the ability to tap into EE's file manipulations, just like the EE2.4 file field type. So {lv_about_image:resized} would give you the resized version of the uploaded file rather than being limited to {lv_about_image}, the file as originally uploaded. Certainly no rush, but I had an application for it just recently, so it's on my mind. Cheers, Low. Incredible add-on.

Hi Low, did you look into this, image manipulations in EE are super useful?

It's on the todo-list. No ETA, tho.

    Thanks.

Has there been any movement on this feature? I could really do with it. It would help with implementing a responsive image framework for my site. Thanks.

Still on the list, but I haven't worked on it yet.

Any update on this? Would be super useful in a project I'm working on.

This is actually already implemented! Image Manipulations for the given upload destinations will be applied to the file when you upload an image via the Select Files var type.

This doesn't seem to be working for me, when I try {var_name:manipulation} the tag doesn't render. I've tried wrapping it in {exp:low_variables:parse}, but that doesn't work as well.

Ah, right. The files are created, but there's no way to display them with LV right now. Will add that to the list.
