Sticky Functionality Lost

Todd Lovato 9 Jun 2011 07:06 question, complete

For your Low Alphabet add-on, is there any way to keep entries marked as "sticky" to remain at the top of lists?

Thank you,
Chris

Hey Chris, I'm afraid Low Alphabet currently doesn't support sticky entries. I will treat this as a feature request, though.

Which brings me to the following question: how would you expect sticky entries to behave? Should all sticky entries stay on top of the a-z list, creating their own little a-z index, or should sticky entries stay on top of their own letter group. To clarify, either this:

    - Sticky A
    - Sticky B
    - Sticky C
    - Normal A
    - Normal B
    - Normal C

    Or:

    - Sticky A
    - Normal A
    - Sticky B
    - Normal B
    - Sticky C
    - Normal C

Hey thanks for the quick response. From all my work with sticky entries, I always expect them to be shown above normal entries, no matter what the sort or orderby is. Expression Engine documentation says this:

"sticky topics always remain at the top of the page"

Therefore I would expect for your sorting to behave like your first example.

    Thanks,
    Chris

Okay, that's clear. I'll look into it, but be advised this isn't something I'll be able to implement any time soon. It may take some time...

Yeah no worries. I've made adjustments to work around it.

    Thanks for the great add-ons.

    Hi Chris

I've got a similar issue, do you mind mentioning your work around?

    Cheers
