Updgraded to EE 2.1, now how do I fully remove the old ReeOrder Add-On?

jacobgraf 30 Mar 2011 02:14 question, complete

I just upgraded from EE 1.7 to EE 2.1 and Reeorder is still appearing in my Member Group preferences. It doesn't seem to be causing issues at the moment, but I'd like to essentially 'uninstall' the old Reeorder add-on since I've purchased and installed the new Low Reorder add-on.

What's involved with cleaning the old one out?

You can just remove Reeorder. Low Reorder isn't an update, but a different add-on which does the same as Reeorder. You can remove Reeorder without any consequences for Low Reorder.

I guess that's my question. How do I do that? When I upgraded to EE 2.1, I didn't move Reeorder over because I knew it was incompatible, but it still shows up under the EE2 CP as shown in the picture above. How do I remove all traces of Reeorder from EE2?

So you uninstalled Reeorder but it still appears in the Member Group preferences? Is it still present in the Modules list?

If the uninstall method is faulty, you'll need to execute a SQL query to get rid of it. Something like:

    DELETE FROM exp_modules WHERE module_name = 'Reeorder'

I took a look into the exp_modules table and sure enough, it was in there along with a couple of other EE1-only modules. I guess when I upgraded to EE2, I figured it would clean out the database from all of those incompatible add-ons. Apparently not. :-(

No, that's right. EE leaves the content in exp_modules alone. Glad it's solved now.
