It is. In the settings, set sort order to Descending to reverse this behaviour. Make sure the channel:entries tag reflects this, ie.
sort="desc"

the settings seem to reflect 'new entries' .. I am talking abut when I edit an existing entry. Is that normal behavior that it gets sent to the bottom of the list? I would expect it to stay where it was when i just edit an entry.

Oh right, that shouldn't happen. What version of Low Reorder are you using and are you on EE1 or EE2?
FlorianAuckenthaler 1 Feb 2011 12:59
ExpressionEngine 1.6.9 - Build: 20100805
Low Reorder 1.1.0

The day I released 1.1.0 there was a small bug which I hotfixed immediately. My records show you downloaded it on that day itself, so can you try and download a fresh copy (which will still be labeled as 1.1.0) and replace the current files with the one in the fresh download?

Hi there,
Anytime I change an existing entry or add a new one - all of the existing ordering goes out of whack. Is there any way to fix this?
Low 27 Feb 2011 13:59
Jake, can you define "out of whack"?
Also, what version of EE and Low Reorder are you using?
jrutter 28 Feb 2011 17:05
Hi there,
Im using version 2.1.3 of EE and v1.1.0 of Reorder plugin.
Basically, if I reorder the entires by category - then I go and change an entry in the category, if I could back to the page - the entries are now out of order.
Low 28 Feb 2011 23:25
Jake, can you try and upgrade to the latest version of Low Reorder (v1.1.1) to see if that solves the problem?
jrutter 1 Mar 2011 18:24
Yes, I upgraded to v.1.1.1 and the issues is still occurring. Do you have any idea as to why?
Low 1 Mar 2011 18:35
No, I'm not sure why. And I cannot reproduce. Can you give me access to your installation so I can closer look? Email login data to low at loweblog dot com.

Hi!
I am having the same problem!
My entries are in the same channel, but in different categories. When I change the order of one of the categories, it seems like the other categories are reset to their original order.
Any ideas why this is happening?
Was Jake's problem solved?
This is my first time using E E and also Low Reorder, so it might be something I am doing wrong! Not sure.
I am using version 1.2.0
Thank you very much!!!

Hey oona,
What exactly is changing? You're saying "the other categories are reset to their original order", which sounds like you're looking at category order, not entry order. Is that correct?
oonascout 17 Aug 2011 00:13
Hi!
Wow, thanks for your fast reply!
So when I select "Show entries per single entry" in the settings, and try to reorder the entries from one category (for example, "offices") the other categories, ("schools," "residential" etc.) are reset to what I am assuming is the default order (maybe by entry date?)
Essentially when I reorder one category, the other categories do not keep the order I had previously selected for them.
However, when I select "Show entries from all categories" and reorder all the entries, it works just fine. But ultimately I would like to be able to reorder the entries by category.
As far as category vs. entry order... I'm afraid I don't quite know what you mean by that :( like I said, I'm fairly new to Expression Engine.
Is this sort of what you are talking about?
http://expressionengine.com/user_guid...
Because that is not what I need :(
I am using categories which are all within the same channel. I am reordering entries. Within categories.
Could it have to do with trying to have a unique order for different categories in one channel?
Thank you so much for your help! Much appreciated!!

Are you perhaps assigning multiple categories to a single entry? Reordering per single category only works properly if you assign only one category per entry.
oonascout 17 Aug 2011 16:20
Ohhhhh. Yep that's it!
I can work with that now that I know what to do!
Thank you! Your module is great.
