PHP Undefined Offset Error on Publish Page in Low Reorder

BK 10 Dec 2010 20:19 problem, complete

I just added Low Reorder to a second of my sites, installing1.05 and then, realizing there is a 1.06, upgrading to it. I am getting a PHP error when I open or save the Publish page:

A PHP Error was encountered
Severity: Notice
Message: Undefined offset: 12
Filename: content/publish.php
Line Number: 123

What to do?

Also, this problem persists even after deleting the Low Reorder field and after uninstalling the entire package. Help!

I can't seem to reproduce this issue. Have you alerted the EllisLab crew yet? With the Low Reorder package removed, it's looking like an issue with EE itself...

It might also have something to do with custom publish form layouts. Are you using those?

I haven't contact Ellis Labs because it didn't start until I installed 1.06 on the site, it affects only the channel where the Low Reorder field was being used, and it doesn't happen with 1.05 on my other site. (As you can tell, I really like the module.) I have indeed customized the layout.

To test whether it is a bug in the EE code for creating a new custom field, I trried creating a new field (type=file) in another channel. It worked without generating a PHP error.

I think the way to solve it, is to remove the custom layout and redo it.

The issue is a strange one. It lies somewhere between EE and third party fieldtypes. The upgrade of Low Reorder shouldn't affect the publish layouts, but somehow it does. I'll talk to the EllisLab devs about this, too.

To get a complete picture, what's your EE build?

  7. BK 10 Dec 2010 22:25

    v2.1.1 - Build: 20101020

Shall I reinstall Reorder before re-doing the custom layout?

    Yes please.

    OK, that worked; thanks!
