Low Search is a smart and elegant way to search, filter and display channel entries. It uses search collections based on channels to create an efficient index, which is searched instead of the raw channel entry data. This index enables the use of MySQL’s native full-text functions, which makes Low Search fast. Very fast.
Keyword searches will add relevance to search results and applying weight to searchable fields will allow you to add importance to fields. Searches without keywords will just display entries as if you just used a channel:entries tag with all the parameters. This means you can use the Low Search form to dynamically set any amount of parameters, while maintaining the ability to paginate and bookmark the results. Other features include:
- Accent and diacritic insensitive;
- Clean search indexes — html and punctuation are filtered out;
- Search for any keyword, all keywords or exact match;
- Optional loose ends search, which is similar to a fuzzy search;
- Full use of all {exp:channel:entries} parameters and variables in the search results tag;
- An easy way to limit entries to given ranges based on channel fields;
- Multiple site search;
- Search log;
- A fieldtype API so other developers can create custom search data for their field types;
- A super powerful Find & Replace utility.
